Hovis Mill Panorama
I have been meaning to do an updated version of my popular panorama of the Hovis Mill Macclesfield from 2010 for quite a while. Here then in the result - this actually required a total of 125 exposures to get the full detail and depth of colour in the scene.

I discovered the beautiful Cathedral Notre-Dame de Reims walking around the city having arrived there on a road trip to the Alps in 2009. I fell in love with the gothic architecture and returned that night to take a series of long exposures with the dramatic lighting.
To ensure the highest quality I went back to the RAW files and applied my current favoured processing techniques rather than rely on what I had done when I was still very much just learning.

Ladybower Reservoir Bellmouth Spillway in Overflow
Only after prolonged spells of heavy rain does the Ladybower Reservoir contain enough water to cause the two bellmouth spillways, affectionately known as the plugholes , to overflow. This was my first visit in such a instance and the sky was overcast and pretty unremarkable a lot of the time. For a brief few moments though the sun did make an appearance through the clouds and I very quickly ran round to the the side of the plughole to best capture it.

Swan Closeup
This beautiful & friendly swan swam up to me within about a meter and posed wonderfully - she was so close I nearly had to get an ultrawide lens out!

This proved a good challenge this one - getting a shot of the swan in a nice pose and stitching a panorama around her to show nearly all of Swan's Pool - would you guess 8 images went into this one?

Homestay in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam
When it's windy and rainy outside I think it's important to have some places in your mind to drift back to. Here's one of mine - an amazing homestay that my travelling companion and I stayed at in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.
The shots straight out of the camera didn't at all do justice to the scene with such a wide dynamic range. Thankfully I always keep the RAW files taken and was able to got back to the images with 4 years more editing experience and tools.

St Peter's Church, Scorton Under the Stars
Never let it be said that I don't like a challenge - when I saw the sea of beautiful flowers in the graveyard of St Peter's Church, Scorton this afternoon I thought how fantastic and different it would be to have a shot of the scene but at night. To do this, I had to light paint the flowers with an LED torch, refocus and take multiple exposures for the church as it is lit by high intensity floodlights and yet another focus with different exposures for the stars and then blend them all together! I hope you appreciate my efforts?
